Consultation
Hilary Benn - Minister for International Development and Politician's Politician in the Channel 4 Political Awards this year - is looking for responses about the best approach to tackling climate change, environmental problems and other issues:

(As this article in the Guardian's News Blog points out, he actually appears to be listening, too.)
Google Page Creator
One to come back to: Google Page Creator. Wonder if its code is any nicer than iWeb's?

Flickr Sets
Flickr is great, and if you haven't tried it out, I urge you to do so. Wish there was a way of storing photos and sets to go back to without marking them as favourites, though - and setting lots of strangers as "contacts" would just seem odd to me. (If I've missed an obvious method, do tell me!) So, here are some that I wanted to keep track of:
- Positivity?
- This set records the Evening Standard's headlines on its advertising boards, giving an interesting illustration of their agenda.
- Glasgow, Architecture, ...
- This photographer lives in Glasgow, and has lots of nice shots of buildings and landscapes, and some particularly good ones of places in Glasgow.
- Memory Lane
- Some nice shots of Kiel. See also the Kiel group and this shot of the Landeshaus. Also these and these.
- Cal's T Shirt Collection
- Set recording the incredible T shirt collection of Flickr's lead developer, Cal Henderson. Cal's main stream is here.
- Typography & Lettering Group
- Waiting for the Bus in Fog
- Really like the atmosphere of that shot.
- City Shots
- Some good shots of London, Dublin & Paris here.
- Scotland & the Scots
- And possibly others besides. Some good landscapes and interesting portraits.
More to follow, no doubt.
Other bits of Flickr-related fun:
- FlickrBits
- FlickrToys
- Carson Workshops: How We Built Flickr (ad). See also Tom Coates on this and photos and podcasts from Carson's Future of Web Apps conference, along with mindmap-style visual summaries of Tom Coates' and Cal Henderson's talks (others in same Flickr account).
Shiny
Thought I'd have another go at keeping a blog, of sorts. Its purpose will primarily be to help me keep track of things I come across and would like to go back to, or need to deal with and am liable to forget or lose in the amorphous mass that is my Bookmarks folder. No doubt there will also be some observations, opinions and so on along the way.
